How we work

From first message to launch day.

Six steps, the same on every project. Fixed price before we start, senior people the whole way, and under three hours of your time.

In short

How a project runs, in short.

Every Good Work project follows the same six steps: a fixed-price quote within one business day; a kickoff that confirms spec, price, and launch date in writing; copy and design created together and reviewed once; a build on the agreed platform with a second review on a staging link; a launch with redirects, analytics, Search Console, and a handoff call; and 30 days of monitoring afterward. A landing page takes one week, a launch site three, a Shopify store four to six, and a custom theme six to ten.

The process

Six steps, every project.

The timeline stretches with the scope; the steps don't change.

  1. Within one business day

    Quote

You send the free quote form or book a call. We reply with one fixed price, a timeline, and what's included — in writing, before anything starts.

  2. Day 1

    Kickoff

A short questionnaire and a 45-minute call. We collect your logins, brand files, and materials, then confirm the spec, price, and launch date in writing.

  3. Week 1–2

    Words and design

Copy and design are written together so layouts fit what the pages actually say. Mobile-first design in Figma, reviewed with you once, revised until it's right.

  4. Week 2–5

    Build

The site or store goes together on the agreed platform: theme or blocks, products and content, integrations, data migration, speed, accessibility, schema, and analytics. Your second review happens on a private staging link.

  5. Launch day

    Launch

Redirects mapped, domain connected, Search Console and analytics live, Google Business Profile aligned, and a one-hour handoff call so your team can run it.

  6. 30 days and beyond

    After launch

We watch Search Console, speed, and forms for 30 days and fix anything that slips. Then a care plan if you want one, or a clean handoff if you don't — you own everything either way.

What you get at the end.

The site or store, live on your domain. Every account — hosting, domain, platform, analytics, Search Console, Google Business Profile — in your name. Code in your repository when there's code. A redirect map from the old site, a short written guide for editing, and a recorded handoff call. Nothing is held back, and there's no lock-in.

The tools behind it.

Figma for design. Shopify CLI, GitHub, and Theme Check for Shopify builds; WordPress block themes and Webflow for marketing sites. Lighthouse, PageSpeed Insights, and Search Console for speed and search. AI tools such as Claude and Cursor help us write, research, and code faster — every word and every line is still reviewed by a senior person before it ships.

FAQ

Process questions.

How much of my time does a project take?

Usually under three hours in total: the kickoff call, two reviews, and the handoff call. We write the copy, so you're reviewing, not drafting.

Who will I actually work with?

Senior people, from the first call to launch. There's no account-manager layer and no hand-off to a junior team after the contract is signed.

How do you communicate during a project?

A weekly written update, one shared document for feedback, and a direct line to the people doing the work. Calls when they're useful, not by default.

What happens if we need something that wasn't in scope?

We tell you before doing it, quote it as a fixed add-on, and only start once you approve. The original price never moves on its own.
