Shopify and QuickBooks that actually reconcile.
The goal isn't getting orders into QuickBooks — it's books your accountant can close without a spreadsheet. That depends on choosing the right connector and mapping it properly.
QuickBooks with Shopify, in short.
Good Work connects Shopify to QuickBooks Online for stores that want clean books: we help choose the right connector for your volume (summary-based tools such as A2X, or order-level sync such as Synder or Webgility), map sales, discounts, shipping, refunds, gift cards, Shopify Payments fees, and sales tax to the right accounts, and make sure each payout reconciles to the deposit in your bank feed. We work alongside your bookkeeper or accountant, and the setup is quoted as a fixed price within one business day.

The QuickBooks setup, item by item.
Configured, tested, and documented — then handed to your team with a short walkthrough.
- Connector chosen for your order volume and how your accountant wants to see sales
- Chart-of-accounts mapping for product sales, shipping income, discounts, and refunds
- Shopify Payments, PayPal, and Shop Pay fees recorded as expenses, not netted out of sales
- Payouts posted so each one matches the deposit in your bank feed
- Gift cards recorded as a liability until they're redeemed
- Sales tax collected by Shopify mapped to the right liability accounts
- Multi-channel sales (POS, wholesale, marketplaces) separated by class or location
- Historical backfill for the months before the connector was installed, if needed
- A short walkthrough for whoever closes the books each month
Why Shopify and QuickBooks usually don't match.
The most common setup posts every order as a sales receipt and every payout as a deposit, then nobody can explain why the two never agree. Payment fees get netted out of revenue, refunds land in the wrong month, gift card sales show up as income on the day they're sold, and sales tax ends up mixed into revenue. None of this is the store's fault — it's the default behavior of connectors installed without mapping. Getting it right once saves hours every month-end.
How it's priced
When QuickBooks is part of a complete Shopify store (from $4,800), setup is included in the fixed price. On its own — a new setup, a cleanup, or a fix — it's quoted as a fixed price within one business day, before any work starts. See pricing or try the price estimator.

QuickBooks questions.
Straight answers before you commit.
Which Shopify–QuickBooks connector should we use?
It depends on volume and what your accountant prefers. Summary-based tools post one entry per payout and keep high-volume books readable; order-level tools record every transaction and suit lower volume or detailed reporting. We'll recommend one after a short look at your numbers.
Do you replace our bookkeeper?
No. We set up the plumbing between Shopify and QuickBooks so your bookkeeper or CPA can do their job faster. We're happy to work with them directly.
Does this work with QuickBooks Desktop or Xero?
Yes — the same principles apply, and most connectors support Desktop and Xero as well.
